REMAIN is a dance film that explores the tension between what is lost and what is left behind. A woman digs into what has ceased to exist, unearthing grief and memory in order to release it, transforming herself through what remains in her heart. Contemporary dance intertwines with an original composition, building an atmosphere of rising intensity where movement and sound mirror the process of letting go and rebuilding.
I envisioned REMAIN as a way to express the inner journey of letting go through movement and imagery. Dance became the most powerful medium to convey this process. I directed this film, working closely with choreographer Kelsey Oluk to capture both the pain of holding on and the relief of release. The choreography and original score were developed together, building a layered tension between sound and movement.
I collaborated with dancers, composers, cinematographers, and editors to create a cohesive, immersive piece that now stands as part of my portfolio—a reflection of how I guide teams, translate emotion into visual storytelling, and craft strong, cinematic work.
